Words don’t have power.
Why should we say,
They do.
Words can’t hurt me.
Don’t believe people that say,
Words affect us all,
They don’t.
They hurt the ones that allow them in,
They only hurt the weak,
Some say,
All words have a meaning,
They are powerful.
Because they-
Hurt,
Offend,
Break down,
Scare,
Enrage,
Repulse,
Alarm,
Destroy.
But they can also,
Heal,
Set free,
Build up,
Please,
Comfort,
Soothe,
Delight,
Affirm,
Create.
Words can do anything,
But that’s nonsense.
They only have power if you let them,
Words can’t do anything.
So don’t believe them,
Words are powerless.
Yet some insist,
Yes,
Words do have power-
