‘Twas The Night Before Litmus’ by Ninthscroll Willett, age 14, Year 9, Soham Village College

Twas the night before litmus,

When all through the school,

Not a single student was talking,

Not even a fool,

The word power flung

through the corridors and it smelt like gum,

by the classroom doors with prayers,

That the panel would finally choose theirs.

The submissions were incredible,

All voted a 10,

But they would live with the guilt,

Of children crying on their divan.
