‘This Is For Real’ by Isbah Mehmood, Penwortham Girls’ School

I had just posted for the fourth time today. Of course, being an influencer isn’t easy. When the world sees me online, I’m beautiful – perfect. It’s not the same in real life. I hate pretending to be a person I’m not, it feels like being suffocated all day. Everyone wants to be a perfect plastic barbie doll yet nobody actually thinks about the fact that if you slip up.. everything comes crashing down.

I stayed up late to make sure that everything for tomorrows post was absolutely perfect. I edited the size of my waist, the length of my hair, made my skin smooth. I soon realised that as I was editing the picture, everything was actually happening in real life. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. Is this really happening? Are you for real? I started to take advantage of the opportunity and got rid of every insecurity I had.

I cleaned the mess in my room just by clicking on my computer a few times. It was amazing! My dream life was actually coming to life!

I quickly finished editing my selfie and posted it. It quickly went viral and my comment section flooded with compliments.
