‘The Unknown Call’ by Beau Smart, age 14, Year 9, Soham Village College

I came home and heard my phone ring. So I answered it.I heard a muffled voice claiming that he was my childhood imaginary friend. Is this real… “Are you for real?” I questioned. They seemed real but were they real? I decided to go on with it saying that I believed them but they still seemed… Not real.

I go to sleep with my mind racing about the same question I have been questioning all night “Are you real?”. I would really like them to be real but What if they are not? What if they are a robot? What if they are fake?

The next morning I called the same number back and they answered promptly and swiftly with “Hello friend” . I ask to arrange a date to meet them but they rapidly refused to meet with no reason. This makes me more intrigued to obtain more answers. But with some persuasion they decided to meet.Tomorrow.

I went to meet them the next day and they were not there…They were not real. They were fake. They were a robot.”Are you for real?”
