‘Mirrors of our Time’ by Oliver Bartodziej, age 14, Year 9, Thomas Clarkson Academy

One day, while walking with my friend, Micheal.

Down we went, down a winding road,

Wearing just cool summer clothes

Spontaneously checking our phones,

Just to check whats going on at home,

You may ask, Are you for Real?

And my response is…

What’s the big deal?

We saw a video of a little boy,

He had such a brittle voice,

He said something bad,

Something that he shouldn’t had,

But in the corner was a little mark,

Hardly noticeable – hidden in the dark,

A disclaimer that it was AI,

You may ask, Are you for Real?

And my response is…

What’s the big deal?

A small mark showing it wasn’t a crime,

Just us flowing with the ‘times’

Not too bothered to make further checks

Because wasting my time, is a crime

Especially when his no child of mine.

You may ask, Are you for Real?

And my response is…

What’s the big deal?

‘Are you for real, it’s not real?’ Micheal said,

A small boy’s reputation on the line,

Ruined by this popular apps design,

A watermark so small,

Making his reputation fall,

A whole generation ruined by AI,

You may ask, Are you for Real?

And my response is…

What’s the big deal?

Something so fake all by design,

So next time think before you post

making a misleading AI video,

can lead to one unfortunate rodeo.

What will happen to this little boy?

His whole reputation and life is now destroyed.

You may ask, Are you for Real?

And my response is…

What’s the big deal?

Next time, though. It could be you.
