‘Letters’ by Ruth Bahrem, year 9, St Edmund’s Catholic School

Lockdown, shutdown, meltdown

I’ve never lost myself like this before

I can’t live like this anymore.

A billion bricks present itself in front of me,

A liquid can spraying sparks of red and green.

Letter stand still on the brick wall

I stand on the edge, taking my final fall

Final breath draws in

Everlasting life ending as a sin.

Entering heaven as a soul

Now my broken scars aren’t black as coal

Death and sadness overtakes all that’s left.

Spray cans and the traces of theft.
