The forest seems to silence me
And silence my worries
And instead of constant stress
Now it is the bird song that fills my heart
The trunks of vast trees rise above
The foliage hugging the ground
Gracefully swimming through the air
Moving like a koi through water
The canopy envelopes the air above me
A mother to all the life below
And the pockets of light it lets through
Dance on the soil
The mid summer light
Creates a warm golden glow
Which strokes the leaves
All around
The dappled light darts
From shadow to shadow
It seems so free, so powerful
And I am reminded that
We are so small
It reminds me of a word
The Japanese use
‘Komorebi’
Encapsulating the beauty of
Sunlighting filtering through leaves
And appreciating the mosaics
It makes on the floor
It is a word of peace, of beauty
Of reflection and truth
It is a word which contains
An indescribable beauty
And with that it becomes powerful
More powerful than we could ever describe
