I stand in front of my nightmare,
Trapped by the glasses cold glare,
This frame is a monster’s face,
Changing my body into a great lie.
The digits on the floor shows I’m fading away,
But the monster in front of me is growing
growing larger and hungrier every day,
Two different truths battle for what is real,
I look at the glass and scream: Are you for real?
The tape measure pinches, the baggy clothes hide,
The storm that is constantly raging inside,
A voice in the dark whispers rules to obey,
As the strength in my bones starts to wither away
And the phantom extracts every truth it can steal,
Leaving a shape I can’t feel,
I stand in front of the monster and scream,
“Are you for real?!”
