The sound of birds, orange light peeking through the curtain, and the cool breeze through the window,
The sound of notifications, bright lights coming from the screen of my phone, the need we feel to always have it in our hands.
The feeling of the wooden chair on my legs, ink slowly drying on my paper, the pen in my hand waiting to write.
The cold screen in my hands, the AI generating its answer to what I’ve just asked, the cursor hovering over the next thing to click.
Looking through cook books of what to bake, slowly sifting the flower and whisking the eggs, the joy of the view as i eat,
Scrolling through my phone for inspiration, ordering the food straight to my house from the apps, watching my tv while I enjoy the fast food in front of me.
The fun of going out with my friends, running around feels full of fresh grass and daisies, taking that last photo but not for them, for us,
My hands gripping my phone as I call them, the footsteps of my video game character running around with its gun, sharing all our photos on social media because everyone needs to know.
Smelling the fresh air around me, taking in the world I am surrounded by, seeing all the greenery and animals around that not many would take the time to notice.
Watching my screen time go up and almost feeling trapped, glued to my phone without direction of what else I can do, something I feel is out of my control.
Study, relax, study, repeat, study, relax, study, repeat..
Study, scroll, study, scroll, should I studs?. Scroll..
I look at the clock, set the alarm and go to sleep, get under my covers so I’m ready for my next day, no distractions, just me and my bed.
I look at my clock, just five more minutes,
Five minutes turns to ten, then fifteen and suddenly it’s been an hour.
I try to sleep but I’m too awake and distracted so just five more minutes…
The sound of birds, orange light peeking through the curtain, and the cool breeze through the window,
The sound of notifications, bright lights coming from the screen of my phone, the tired feeling I’m dragging with me.
The tried that i know if from the technology, from being on my phone.
