‘Alternate Perspectives’ by Rosie Fretwell

The plane door closes,

I get into the boat.

We begin to take off,

Leaving my parents behind.

Safely fastens seat belts,

Children crying, confused and scared.

Smiling air hostesses,

Choppy waves throwing people overboard.

Smoothly landing,

People weeping.

People clap,

On land no place to go.

Welcomed into a new country,

Unaccepted.
