‘The Never Ending Doom’ by Katie and Ruby

We used to do science experiments with prisms,
Looking back when everything was real,
Now it’s all in the algorithms,
And everything looks surreal.

The pictures we used to take,
Tossed into the past,
Are now nothing but fake,
Creating a bitter contrast.

Our promises began to break,
There’s no longer trust,
Leaving a silent ache,
It’s all left to rust.

Your life taken over by scams,
Questioning who’s on the other side,
With no time to revise for exams,
Reality is denied.

It’s an artificial apocalypse,
Fuelled by mechanical brains,
That’s taking over politics,
What are their aims?

There’s a gap in human emotion,
People becoming less able,
Their lives empty of motion,
Phones take over the fables.

No day without scrolling,
Hours in one room,
Our minds no longer controlling,
A never ending doom.

So are you for real?
